Subject: Burning DVD's with Windows XP
posted Thursday, April 10th 2008 @ 7:01 PM

About a year ago our computer crashed. When we brought it back after being repaired we found out that the service tech installed a different version of XP than the one we originally had.

It didn't seem to matter then but recently I went to burn some DVD's and we no longer had that functionality.

Can you suggest any program (preferably free) that we can use? I only need to burn 2 or 3 so I really don't want to spend a lot of money.

Thanks,
Patricia

Hi Pat,

Windows XP indeed does not include support for BURNING DVDs (it can read them though).

You can burn DVDs on Windows XP using free programs such as "Burn4Free".

You should use the "Verify" option as this will verify that the written CD is indeed readable.

Yours,

Jack.
